Sylhet International Cricket Stadium ,a cricket stadium in Sylhet, Bangladesh, is called Sylhet International Cricket Stadium (SICS), also known as Sylhet Stadium and formerly known as Sylhet Divisional Stadium. The National Sports Council of Bangladesh runs it. The cricket grounds in Bangladesh include this one. First-class, List-A, and Twenty20 games were played on the grounds. Some have also held Twenty20 Internationals, One Day Internationals, and Test matches. The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is the only cricket stadium in Bangladesh with a green gallery, and it is surrounded by hills and has a beautiful outlook. In order to host games for the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 and 2014 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, the stadium underwent a significant expansion in 2013.The stadium’s inaugural international game saw Ireland vs Zimbabwe on March 17, 2014. The 2022 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup was held at the stadium.As a divisional cricket stadium, the facility was constructed in 2007. The stadium boasts a beautiful outlook and is surrounded by hills. There have been matches between the Nepal Under-19 team and the England Lions.

For use as the venue for 2014 ICC World Twenty20 matches, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium was upgraded and expanded. The main pavilion structure and the media center have been built, along with new seating configurations and illumination installation. The first “Green gallery” in Bangladesh opened then. After separating from Pakistan Bangladesh developed so much in cricket.  Bangladeshi stadiums are much improved  than Pakistan stadiums by quality.

In 2017, the location underwent yet another renovation to become a stadium of the highest caliber. The green hillock was changed, and a second tier was added to the east side gallery, increasing seating capacity by 5000. The first leg of the 2017 BPL matches were place there.

Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is Bangladesh’s only stadium with a green gallery. Additionally, it has a clubhouse, grand stand, and northern and western stands. The Bangladesh National Cricket Team, Sylhet Strickers, and Sylhet Division Cricket Team all call it home.

Cricket is played at the Sylhet Outer Stadium, which is close to the main stadium. It was initially created so that players could train before international games. Bangladesh and Thailand played in the venue’s inaugural international game on October 1, 2022, as part of the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup.

In  2014 a ICC World Twenty20 qualifier match between Ireland and Netherlands, Both teams were competing for a position in the Super 10. Ireland opened the bowling and scored 189-4. In order to advance to the Super 10, Netherlands needed to win the game in 13.5 overs. The Netherlands achieved its fastest T20I 100 score in just 6.6 overs. The Netherlands scored the fastest 150 in a T20I match, doing so in just 10.3 overs. The Netherlands defeated the opposition with 37 balls remaining, recording the quickest victory of any T20I team chasing 180 runs.

In Test cricket at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Taijul Islam became just the fourth Bangladeshi bowler to get a 10-wicket haul. In a test match, he also has the third-best bowling figure of any Bangladeshi bowler (11/170).

Few records were made during the three-match ODI series in March 2020 when Zimbabwe toured Bangladesh.
Bangladesh’s victory in the opening ODI, by 169 runs, was their largest in ODI history.

In ODIs, Mashrafe Mortaza claimed his 100th wicket as captain and his 700th career wicket.

Tamim Iqbal reached the 7,000-run mark in ODIs for Bangladesh in the second game.

The third ODI:

The 292 run partnership between Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das is the greatest for any Bangladeshi wicket.

The best individual score by a Bangladeshi batsman in an ODI was recorded by Liton Das, who struck 176 runs off 143 balls.
The most by a Bangladeshi batsman in an ODI was 24 boundaries, including 16 fours and 8 sixes, from Liton Das.Against Ireland, Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh also achieved a century, doing so in just 60 balls.

In this Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Shai hopes of the West Indies also registered a century.
