Pakistan and Bangladesh played their first Test match at the venue in August 2001, while the same teams played their first One Day International on September 9, 2003. After floodlights were built to enable day/night cricket matches, India and Pakistan played the first day/night match at this location on February 16, 2006.The Multan Cricket Stadium has several enclosures, including Javed Miandad Enclosure, Zaheer Abbas Enclosure, Waqar Younas Enclosure, Inzamamul Haq Enclosure, Fazal Mahmood Enclosure, and Imran Khan Enclosure.
